Martin is a great singer and versatile performer. He has taken on the remit of Classique's wide range of styles of repertoire effortlessly; singing James Brown, Lionel Ritchie, Bowie, Toto, Michael Jackson, Prince though his first love is all the Soul & Motown classics.
Mixed in with his peerless vocal attributes, Martin has a propensity for voice impersonations - he mimicks a wide repertoire of accents and dialects. If you get confused as to where he is from he will naturally eventually revert to his favoured lancashire accent as he is from Oldham!
Martin' performance is non stop and tirelessly energetic, openly inviting and persuading the audience to join in.
Emma is an actress and model as well as being a superb vocalist. She has starred in The Parole Officer and was in Sky's Dreamteam for 163 episodes - in November 2006 she appeared in Coronation Street as Charlie's girlfriend.
Emma is a talented musician in her own right and writes and records her own material. She is great fun to be around; contributing her part to the band's sense of humour. When she joined the band 3 years ago, Emma brought the extra dimension we were looking for with her dynamic singing and energy on stage; Emma oozes pure class - perfect for Classique.
Ollie is very well known throughout the northwest as a master bass player withour peer. His credits are endless, he being in big demand as both as session player and performer. He has innumerable recording credits and is a prolific writer and music producer in his own right.
His experience and expertise has to be heard to be fully understood - Classique's dynamism and energy start with the rhythm section - essential to the genres we deliver. His technique is breathtaking and he is a real musicians muscian.
Rich started playing at age ten so has twenty or so years to experience to contribute to the band. You have to hear Rich play to fully appreciate his technique and energy.
Rich teaches percussion and is big demand as a session player and is also engaged in a solo project of his own music. He is meticulous in his preparation for engagements and practices more than any other member of the band.
Rich has a vast range of drums kits to choose from and he has them stored in locations all over the northwest. Rich brings to the band the ultimate professionalism and musical wisdom and has the largest repertoire of riposts to drummer jokes we've ever heard.
Dave is deadly serious about his guitar playing - he is meticulous in his musical analysis and he has adopted the mantel of Classique "Quality Assurance Officer"! If anyone goes astray from our agreed arrangements then Mr Tone Control will tactfully remind the offender of the error of their ways!
Over the years, Dave has mastered all the requisite rhythm and blues styles for his rhythm guitar playing but his awesome Lead Solos gives away his rock roots. In his youth, he was very much a guitar protegy and following his graduation from University he won a prestigious scholarship to the Guitar Institute Technology (GIT) in California. We dont know of any other musican in the UK that has earned this award.
A talented composer and music producer in his own right we have promised one another we will write together that elusive Classique album soon. Most important of all, Dave brings a wealth of musical experience into the band.
Paul started piano lessons in 1963, did his first paid live performance in 1969 and turned professional in 1973 playing electric piano and hammond organ. He got into electronic music at the same time which has proved invaluable, as keyboard playing these days is very much technology based. For Paul, Classique is inevitably nostalgic as he was around in all the eras of the music Classique play.
Over the years, aswell as playing in Jazz, Rock, Soul, Disco Rhythm and Blues outfits, Paul worked Theatres & Cabaret and accompanied many famous light entertainment artists. He spent 4 years in Florida playing various circuits from Heavy Rock, Top 40, Jazz and even in a Country band. Paul started writing music for TV & Radio in the early 1980s and on his return to the UK in 1985, he founded his music production company; Creative Sound Productions located in it's own Recording Studio facility. He's never stopped gigging and as the 'veteran' in the band, intends to continue to grow old disgracefully.
